Brighton Trip: March 2024

Artbox Cafe is a Brighton based establishment that specialize in different character themes within their shop and eatery - the storefront is a permanent residence, however they swap out the specific character focus every few years, from displaying BT21 characters, to Pusheen the Cat and many others. As the cafe has now changed theme from my last visit, I will reminisce on my experience of seeing my favorite character being featured within the shop.

Upon entering, I was met with an ice cream display and a coffee counter for those looking for a quick to-go bite, and there was also a merchandise counter, where they were selling mainly Hello Kitty and some other Sanrio products, however, I was more interested in going upstairs to their main sit down cafe, so i could take my time and enjoy the scenery and appreciate the effort put into the theme.

When we were seated, they provided us with a cute menu reflecting the characters along side an equally as cute placemat for our food.

When looking through the menu, you can see that the dishes are more pricey than other places, however this is expected due to the creativity and effort put into the cafe to create an interactive experience for visitors who came to see the unique presentations of their favourite characters.

We ended up ordering a lot on the menu, as this was a special pre-birthday occasion for me, and it was amazing to see the different Sanrio characters incorporated into their menu, which made my day feel extra special!

Overall, the experience was very enjoyable, and it was worth taking the detour trip to Brighton to visit the Artbox cafe, and I would love to go again if given the chance. The staff were very welcoming and they provide extra placemats and coasters for free as an extra souvenir, and the cafe also includes vegan and gluten free options, which means it is inclusive to all!
